Absolute Beach is nestled away in the sleepy Britannia Bay area, situated on the pristine South African West Coast.

We are both a guest house, as well as a retreat, which facilitates for any and all groups looking to experience the breath-taking West Coast, in comfort and without any unnecessary hassles.

Absolute Beach invites you to unplug from the manic energy of city life and immerse yourself in the unique nature of the West Coast, which is right on our doorstep. Our guesthouse is all about peace and quiet; meaning most of our rooms do not have TV’s and fridges – we try to remove any constant hum that would detract from the sound of the waves, the chirping of birds and the majesty of awe-inspiring sunsets.

We have 2 communal lounges, one which has a big fridge for you to store your goodies in. There is a communal kitchenette with cutlery, crockery and a microwave as well as a full communal kitchen to share. Both lounges have great fireplaces, which are perfect for cuddling up next to with a big mug of hot chocolate and somebody special. There is also a TV with DSTV, Netflix, and a few classic movies on DVD to choose from.

We also have 2 communal braai areas that guests are welcome to use.

Absolute Beach has free WiFi throughout the house, just in case you want to get in touch with your loved ones, or have some work to do.

Britannia Bay is part of the beautiful West Coast and has the perfect setting with white rocks and a cobalt sea. Britannia Bay, consisting of Old Britannia Bay, Flagship, Golden Mile (Boulevard), and Shelley Point forms the epicentre of St. Helena Bay, is situated on a peninsula and is rightfully named the Jewel of the West Coast due to its unsurpassed beauty.

Vasco da Gama discovered the St Helena Bay in 1497, and named it in honour of Saint Helena. A memorial was erected in 1969 to mark this occasion. Da Gama was on his pioneer voyage to the East when he weighed anchor in this Bay and remained here for a week.

Visitors can enjoy long sandy beaches, pristine coastlines, natural beauty, and quaint living. This area is also notorious for its wildflowers. People come here to relax in the peace and quiet of a tranquil country village with a bustling fishing harbour.

Along the shores, you can catch crayfish, snoek, yellowtail, stumpnose, hake, and galjoen. This beautiful area is also home to whales and dolphins and a birdwatchers paradise, with the Berg River estuary in the north and West Coast National Park and Cape Columbine Nature Reserve in the south. 90 miles north is a Cape Gannet colony at Lambert's Bay where a state-of-the-art bird hide, with its one-way window, allows the viewer to get within 10cm of the birds.

Day visits can easily be done to the Cederberg in the east and to the north, Velddrif, Elands Bay and Lamberts Bay. To the south there are more quaint villages like Paternoster, Jacobsbaai, Saldanha Bay and Langebaan.

The West Coast National Park offers hiking trails, recreational zones, and plenty of wildlife to explore. It is also famous for its abundant wildflowers during spring.

A visit to the Fossil Park - West Coast National Park where one of the world's richest paleontological dig-sites provides a peek into the past, completes a visit to the West Coast.

Marina and Duncan met in London many moons ago, where they fell in love and have been inseparable ever since. After studying/working in Cape Town for several years, and realising city life was not for them, they were given the opportunity to escape the ‘rat race’ by Marina’s parents, Ria and Andries. The four of them moved up the West Coast together, to open a bed & breakfast on the beach in oh~so sublime Britannia Bay.

Twelve years down the line the business has gone from strength-to-strength and today they wouldn’t trade their lifestyle for the world. Giving others the opportunity to escape to a place where life is simpler, quieter and more in tune with nature, is what they are all about.

They have turned their bed and breakfast into something more than your average beachfront accommodation; creating a refuge for guests to feed their souls and to relieve them of all the accumulated stress city life tends to bring. Once you step into their world and get to experience a piece of true ‘Weskus living’ you will see why their guests keep coming back.
